Your Royal Majesty Otumfuo, the Asantehene We stand here today on behalf of the Board, Management and Staff of the Trust Bank to first of all thank you for granting us audience and the opportunity to be part of the series of events marking the 10th anniversary celebration of your enthronement to the Golden Stool of Asanteman.

Your Royal Majesty Otumfuo, the Asantehene
We stand here today on behalf of the Board, Management and Staff of the Trust Bank to first of all thank you for granting us audience and the opportunity to be part of the series of events marking the 10th anniversary celebration of your enthronement to the Golden Stool of Asanteman.

We, accordingly and respectfully, take this opportunity to wish you a happy anniversary and many more celebrations in the years ahead!

Your Royal Majesty, we may crave your indulgence to make a short presentation on our bank, The Trust Bank, and its historical relations with Manhyia. TTB, as we have come to be known, started operations over a decade ago and currently has 17 branches, 3 of which are located within your Kingdom. Our presence in Kumasi dates back to 1994 when we opened our first branch within the Adum business district along Prempeh II Street. The branch was officially opened by your illustrious predecessor, the late Nana Opoku Ware II. The second branch was established in 2001 at the Suame-Magazine business area with the 3rd opened in April 2008 at Ashanti-New Town, the commissioning of which was done by your able  representative  and son, the Akyempemhene, Nana Adusei Poku.

Your Royal Majesty  , since its establishment, TTB has maintained very close and warm relations with Manhyia. The bank has been supportive of a number of initiatives and projects undertaken by Otumfuo and Asanteman.  We have been active contributors to the Otumfuo’s Education Trust Fund and also made a significant contribution to the Afua Kobi Ampem Girls’ Secondary School project at Traboum in 2004.
The bank also supported the refurbishment of the Prempeh II jubilee museum in 1998 and also, in 2007, responded to an appeal by the Centre for National Culture by contributing towards the Cultural Centre’s activities. The bank also made a donation to Manhyia for the celebration of the Akwasidae festival, which incidentally coincided with Otumfuo’s birthday in May 2007.

The Trust Bank, in line with its social responsibility policy guideline, has also donated a total amount of GH¢33,000 to 5 deprived public basic schools in Ashanti over the past 2 years. These were in the form of reading books, computers and accessories and other teaching aids. This is our small way of helping to improve teaching and learning in public schools in your kingdom.

Your Royal Majesty, my short address will perhaps not be complete if I do not also take the opportunity afforded me to formally apprise you of a major strategic changes taking place in  TTB. This concerns the current merger discussions taking place between The Trust Bank and Merchant Bank Ghana with the view to joining forces to create one of the largest banks on the Ghanaian banking market today. When completed, the merged bank is expected to generate the requisite synergies and greater financial muscle to play a more proactive intermediation role in supporting the growth sectors of the economy whilst also deepening the bank’s corporate social responsibility efforts.

Your Royal Majesty, it is line with TTB’s passionate desire for requiting the love of the community where it has established a presence that we are pleased to take up a platinum sponsorship package of GH 25,000 as our contribution towards the 10th anniversary celebration of your majesty’s reign as occupant of the Golden Stool of Asanteman.

On this note, I wish to end by once more congratulating your Royal Majesty, Otumfuo Osei Tutu (II) on your attainment of this important milestone of your reign.
Thank you
